Aachen, Germany

The Charlemagne Prize Foundation (Stiftung Internationaler Karlspreis zu Aachen) is currently establishing a Charlemagne Prize Academy, which is supposed to present a new opportunity for university graduates and early-stage researchers to expand their own network, to implement individual research projects and to publish innovative thoughts.

In course of that, its new Fellowship Programme aims to support innovative research ideas in the context of ‘Europe’s Responsibilities in Global Progress’. The programme is aimed at graduates, as well as at staff of scientific or political institutions and young professionals up to the age of 35, who wish to conduct a one-year research project with European relevance, independent of subject, political agenda or citizenship. The support refers to an annual grant of 25,000 €, as well as academic mentoring and regular networking events. The research can be carried out in cooperation with an institution or without institutional commitment.
