The Düsseldorf Institute for Competition Economics (DICE) at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf is seeking to ll the position of a

Assistant Professorship (W1) for Industrial Economics
(with Tenure Track to a Full Professorship at W2-Level)

as of April 2018. Candidates with a research focus in empirical industrial economics will be given preference, but candidates with a theoretical or experimental focus are also invited to apply. Prerequi- sites are an excellent PhD in economics as well as the ability to publish in leading economic journals in the future. This should be documented through an excellent job market paper. The faculty appreciates successful acquisition of competitive third-party funding and international research experience.

Conditions for employment are, in addition to general administrative conditions in accordance with § 36 of the North Rhine-Westphalia University Act (Hochschulgesetz), an aptitude for teaching, excep- tional competence in research, and additional scienti c achievements.

Employment is initially for three years. Given a successful evaluation in the third year, employment will be renewed for another three years. Conditional on a positive (tenure) evaluation in the sixth year, the position is transformed into a permanent position at associate professorship level (German pay scale W2).
