The Faculty of Economics and Management of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano is seeking excellent candidates to fill the following academic position
Associate Professor in Accounting
(13/B1 - SECS-P/07 - Economia aziendale)
Bolzano Campus


Candidates should have a PhD in Accounting or a related discipline and possess significant experience in teaching courses in financial accounting at all levels to warrant appointment as an associate professor. The preferred candi-date is able to teach in German, and has a portfolio of courses that may include Intermediate and Advanced IFRS ac-counting as well as Accounting for multinational firms.

Candidates must have an excellent record of scientific publications with high impact factor consistent with type "A" pub-lications as indicated by the Italian National Research Agency ANVUR-GEV13. The successful candidate will join the Re-search Cluster in Financial Markets and Regulation and take an active lead in the development of research initiatives in her/his areas of expertise. The Research Cluster is particularly interested in candidates who want to develop innovative teaching and empirical research about the effect of financial and non-financial disclosure on financial markets and other stakeholders.

The position offered is at the Associate Professor Level in Accounting (Professore Associato in the scientific sector SECS-P/07 under the Italian academic system). The position is tenured, full-time, and with a minimum teaching load of 120 hours per academic year.
The position compensation structure is competitive with that of top European universities and, depending on individual circumstances, may give rise to fiscal advantages. the expected starting date is April 2019, but it is subject to the ap-proval of a new Master degree in Accounting and Finance by the Italian Minister of University and Research (MIUR).

According to Italian legislation, only candidates already holding an equivalent academic position (Associate Pro-fessor) at their current foreign university qualify for a "direct call from abroad".

Furthermore, the Selection Committee will consider applicants meeting the following conditions:

a) evidence of high-quality teaching and mentoring through student or department evaluations;
b) significant level of service to the department, the university and the profession;
c) evidence of ability to raise external funds for research;
d) knowledge of at least two of the three official teaching languages at the Faculty of Economics and Management (German, Italian, English).

About the Faculty
The Faculty of Economics and Management was founded in 1998 and counts at present over 1000 students and more than 50 faculty members who study and work in three languages: German, Italian and English. Through academic ex-cellence in research and teaching, the Faculty contributes to the development of the South-Tyrolean economy while being solidly connected to international scientific networks.
