You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the Centre's e-learning resources. Through a combination of project work and the delivery of day-to-day services, you will ensure that the Centre maintains and advances its digital learning environment and fulfils the Centre's goals in both teaching and learning. You will take an innovative approach to identifying and advising Language Centre staff on new technologies to support language learning and teaching.

Reporting to the Director, you will liaise closely with all colleagues engaged in the delivery of teaching and learning support to ensure that virtual environments and frameworks are innovative, take account of fast-changing technological advances and respond to evolving needs. You will project-manage the development of bespoke online learning solutions, working with staff of the Language Centre and of other institutions in the University as appropriate.

You will manage a team responsible for the technical and visual design, implementation and maintenance of a wide range of online learning resources, including a significant amount of audio-visual production and editing. The team also supports staff of the Centre to exploit the University's Virtual Learning Environment (Moodle) for teaching and learning purposes, and also delivers general ICT services to staff and learners.

You will actively engage in the promotion and development of the Language Centre and its teaching and learning functions across the Collegiate University. You will also be a member of the Language Centre's Senior Staff team, contributing to the strategic development of the Centre as a whole. At University level, you will be expected to engage in wider networks of e-Learning and ICT professionals delivering the University's digital education goals.

With a postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline, you will have considerable experience gained in a learning development function in Higher Education, proven knowledge and experience of instructional design, and knowledge of pedagogic theory and technologies. You will also have excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate specialist or technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
