Scholarship available from April 2019 for 12 months

Applications are invited from recently qualified veterinarians for this twelve month post-graduate training programme offering high-quality, post-graduate training in equine studies. The emphasis will be on gaining practical clinical experience in equine medicine and surgery under the supervision of board-certified diplomates, and will allow the intern to identify specific fields in which to specialise, either in preparation for Senior Clinical Scholarship training programmes, or specialist private practice. This training programme fosters individualised teaching in an upbeat and supportive environment with abundant opportunities to develop specialist clinical skills.

Applicants must be a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, or hold a veterinary degree qualifying them for membership.

A JCTS had the following to say about the internship: "It is an internship where you have a lot of opportunities of getting hands on. You take an active part during surgery, lameness work up and medicine cases such as gastric ulcers, medical colics, gastric ulcers or ophthalmology among others, having the chance of doing things that you normally couldn't do. You are involved in the teaching, getting a lot of experience in an academic environment surrounded by a great team of veterinarians and highly qualified nurses"

We would welcome anyone wishing to apply for this scholarship to arrange a visit to the hospital to meet the team and find out more.
