Applications are invited to provide maternity cover for the position of PhD and Training Administrator at the Wellcome MRC Cambridge Stem Cell Institute (CSCI) and Department of Haematology to oversee the Institute and Department's recruitment processes and provide support for its Graduate students. The Institute is a world-leading centre of excellence for stem cell research with 28 group leaders, 345 affiliated group leaders and active grants totalling> £100 million. The Institute also serves as a hub for the wider stem cell research community in Cambridge as one of the University's Interdisciplinary Research Centres

The primary role of this post is to support the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute's Graduate programme in order to continue to promote the Institute as a world class research centre. The role is responsible for recruitment for both the Institute's flagship Wellcome PhD Programme and for the Department of Haematology, including producing induction schedules and course materials. Additionally, the role is first point of admin contact for current students and will be involved in maintaining student pages on the Institute website, mailing lists, and keeping student data current on various internal systems. The role is also involved in student event organisation and some monitoring of budgets/finance management.

Applicants should have demonstrable experience of working in an office-based environment, ideally in Graduate administration. It is essential that the candidate have strong communication skills, attention to detail and an ability to prioritise your own workload. Competent knowledge of the Microsoft Office package is essential.

Temporary cover: This post is fixed-term for 12 months or the return of the post holder, whichever is the earlier.
