The Lundbeckfonden Center of Excellence NanoCAN / Molecular Oncology Research Group at the Research Unit of Cancer- and Inflammation Research, Institute of Molecular Medicine, invites applications for a postdoc position in the field of Functional Genomics of Metastatic Spread and EMT.

The Lundbeckfonden Center of Excellence NanoCAN is a highly interdisciplinary center, joining groups from Health Sciences, Natural Science and Odense University Hospital.

Its major goal is to develop smart personalized nanodrugs that target cancer stem cells via cutting-edge technologies.

The potential candidate will be required to take over responsibilities for a systematic functional screening project to recover novel modulators of metastatic spread and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer with the major goal to identify new attack points suitable for the design of cancer stem cell-targeting drugs.

The project is performed in tight collaboration with the Department of Clinical Genetics at the Odense University Hospital and includes the application of molecular biology and cell biology techniques.


Qualified candidates must have a PhD degree in biomedicine, biotechnology, cell biology, molecular biology, or from a related field at the time of employment as well as documented experience in cancer research, cell biology and molecular biology.

Applicants with expertise in working with innovative techniques for the construction of stable cancer cell lines, advanced gene cloning techniques, metastasis research, and functional genomics approaches will be preferred.
