The Department of Communication (IfK) in the Faculty of Educational and Social Science (FB 6) of the University of Münster (WWU), Germany, seeks to appoint a

Professor (W2) of Communication Sciences with specialisation in journalism research

at the earliest possible date.

The selected candidate shall represent the entire spectrum of research and teaching activities in the subject area of communication sciences. Journalism research comprises the thematic focus of the professorship. The candidate is expected to contribute to the theoretical and empirical analysis of journalism at the micro-, meso- and macro-level. Particular attention should be given to the current changes taking place in the field of journalism especially with regard to digitalisation and its consequences.

The candidate should be recognised for his/her research and publication activities in the fi eld of journalism research. Prior experience with acquiring external funding and implementing third-party projects is a prerequisite.

We expect the candidate to demonstrate a high degree of personal commitment to teaching courses in the bachelor's and master's degree programmes, to o ering several areas of specialisation in the modulebased degree programmes and to be able to hold courses in German and English. In addition to the relevant academic qualifications, the candidate should possess extensive experience in teaching and administering examinations. Furthermore, the candidate's participation in expanding the department's research focus on science communication is desired.

To be considered for this position, the candidate should hold a subjectrelevant university degree, didactic aptitude and exceptional academic ability, substantiated by the quality of his/her doctoral degree. The candidate should possess extensive academic experience obtained through an assistant professorship (Juniorprofessur), a habilitation (postdoctoral qualifi cation), as a member of the academic staff of a university or non-university research institute, or in a research position in business, industry, administration or other relevant fields in Germany or abroad.
