The position will be based on a permanent civil-law employment contract with the university in accordance with § 98, UG 2002 [University Act].

With its Research Platform “Empirical and Experimental Economics” the Faculty positions itself as a national and international center for theory-driven and evidence-based economics. With high-standard research achievements that are both internationally recognized and of great societal relevance the Faculty strengthens the university as a research-oriented institution.


Applicants are expected to have an outstanding research profile in Economics and in particular Environmental Economics.

It is the applicants’ responsibility to represent the subject Economics/Environmental Economics in teaching and research and to contribute to a sustainable development of the University’s and Faculty’s research landscape, in particular to the Research Platform “Empirical and Experimental Economics”

Applicants are expected to teach courses in Economics/Environmental Economics at all levels (Bachelor, Master, and PhD).

Participation in academic administration is taken for granted.

Eligibility requirements include

a pertinent degree in higher education, a pertinent ‘habilitation’ [post-doctoral qualification for academic careers] or comparable qualification, excellent publications in international peer- reviewed journals, proven involvement in international research, experience in raising external research funds and distinctive didactic skills.

The basic salary is set down in the collective bargaining agreement for university employees. Professors are in the remuneration group A 1. For this position the monthly salary before tax is € 5.130,20 /per month (14 x). Depending on qualification and experience, a higher salary
